The Team

Anishka Clarke

Having worked a decade in finance, both in Jamaica, and on Wall Street, Anishka quit finance in early 2006 to pursue her real passion, interior design.  She has since honed a strong nature-inspired aesthetic, which compliments her minimalist and modern sensibility. Efficiency is an important part of her designs and process, having been heavily influenced by a waste-not upbringing by her Guyanese mom.  A Brooklyn resident, but Jamaican at heart, Anishka is dedicated to creating “efficiently beautiful” spaces for Ishka Designs' clients.

In late 2015, Anishka received an Impact award from the largest Caribbean news publication, Caribbean Life for her contributions to the Caribbean American community.  She completed the Goldman Sachs/Tory Burch Foundation 10,000 Small Business program in 2014 and in 2013, she was recognized by the Caribbean publication, Where Itz At at their BIG awards for entrepreneurial leadership in the area of design.  Anishka is an Interior Design honors graduate (Summa Cum Laude) of the Fashion Institute of Technology (2007), holds an MBA from Stern Business School, New York University (2002), and graduated with honours from the University of the West Indies with a degree in Accounting and Economics (1996).
